IIDI notified regarding Enabling Depository Participants to offer Bullion Depository services

Industry Specific ComplianceThe India International Depository IFSC Limited (IIDI) on March 23, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Enabling Depository Participants to offer Bullion Depository services.

The following has been stated namely: -

• As per IFSCA guidelines, Depository Participants (DPs) of IIDI can now offer bullion depository services to clients. 

• IIDI will stop accepting new demat account applications from the date of the circular, but will process previously received applications. 

• All new bullion clients must open demat accounts only with Depository Participants registered with IIDI. 

• Existing bullion clients with IIDI must open new demat accounts with a DP and close their old accounts by June 30, 2026. 

• From July 01, 2026, IIBX will allow trading only for members/clients holding demat accounts with Depository Participants.
